Jyoti and Nashi combine their living with the shepherds of Rajasthan, with their work of providing themselves as a doorway to rural Rajasthan’s culture and life.
They are appreciated by the media and recognized as ‘unique’ by Govt. of India Tourist Office and Dep. of Tourism, Art & Culture - Gov. of Rajasthan.
For their deep knowledge acquired over the years, they are commissioned as special guides and requested for lectures and special collaborations.
As part of their Project Marustali, with the collaboration and sponsor of tour operator Gränslösa Resor – Sweden, Nashi leads and guides 'Women Tours' to Rajasthan and leads the occasional workshops of Hindi course and traditional textile handicraft.
For her engagement as appreciated link between the west and the east, and for her research and documentation of the shepherd life in Rajasthan, Nashi has been awarded a grant of 150.000 Swedish crowns (16.000 €) by the Swedish trust foundation ‘Iris’.
